FUCK I’M COLD.
Yes, it’s the complaining of cold time of year, but seriously, it’s currently about 61°F outside and the temp in my office? 62°F. Yes, I did just go turn on the heat, but I don’t anticipate it helping much.
This week I hung a velvet curtain over the doorway to the giant closet off my room (as it has no door) and I hung thermal curtains over the door to the outside from my room, to keep the draft down. I even hung some pictures on my walls. The room looks almost like someone lives in it now, instead of being a beige box with a bed in the middle and lots of shoes on one wall.
And I fixed the goddamnmotherfuckingcocksucking toilet, once and for all (daft, you’d be proud of the approximately 11 seconds it took me). Maybe. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. But hey, it works for now. And see? Curtains and toilet repair, I’m handy! And you wish your life was as exciting as mine.
Perhaps after work I will hit the thrift store and buy a bunch of ugly fleece pullovers to cut up and make handwarmers out of, so I don’t die of hypothermia in this office.
I need a good wall calendar and good pocket planner kind of one. Any recs? or should I just hit Office Depot and make do with what I can find?
Hi, how are you?

Does anyone with long hair ever leave the salon and think, “wow, glad I did that”? Haircuts, ugh. I mean, I think it looks better, it’s much lighter, way more layered and less heavy. And not really too much shorter. I just can’t get excited about it. It’ll go up in twist better now, I’m not sure about the librarian bun though. I don’t think I can braid all of it anymore, but it goes up in a ponytail better. Maybe I just need to get used it. Maybe I just need to be less whiny.

I know it seemed like it might never happen again, but as always with the season change, Cherry Blossom Designs has been updated. I’m thrilled with all the pieces, but not at all with the photography. I’m going to have to find a better way to do this. Like for instance, this piece is WAY more awesome looking in real life. How do I translate into good pictures? Hmm. Might help if I wasn’t a shitty photographer. Heh. Anyway, go forth and buy! Tell all your friends. Or you know, don’t. Whatever. I’m tired now. Website updates and jewelry making take a whole lot out of a girl.
P.S. The cherry earrings are back if any of you wanted them and missed them last time.

I don’t know what to get my mom for her birthday. I gave my dad and my sister my only good idea. Books and music are right out ’cause she buys that stuff for herself all the time.

Work has been hell. It’s too boring and stupid to even go into. But hey, there is good in the world. Like the little mini-break I just took to Philadelphia.
Philly is a pretty awesome city. It’s a little like NYC and SF combined in some weird way, but better because it feels, not smaller, but maybe tighter? More comfortable. Surely not exactly safe, but it felt urban in this completely comfortable way that feels safe to me.
I got to hang out a bunch with JL (autumnyte) which was great. I wish I’d had more time to see her, but hopefully there’s a next time. She took me to the excellent Mutter Museum and out for lovely food and we went a saw an excellent show.
Mostly I hung out with SH and was goofy and silly and swoony and all. He’s brilliantly funny and charming and cool. (Yes he’s the “fixin’ to court” boy). I met lots of people, saw a bit of the city and ate well. It was a perfect a few days though now it sort of seems like a fantasy break that happened to someone else. A fairytale story slightly removed from my own life. I expect a next chapter int he story though, so there’s definitely something to look forward to.
I came home to some tragic news for K, and now she’s gone for most the rest of the month. Work is disastrous (though I find I care less after being out for a bit). The house is is in need of some fixin’ up. Over all things are good, just busy and little more stressful than I’d like.
I did get two new purses yesterday! One so cute I can barely stand it. Seriously, is there anything better in the world than surprise gifts for no reason from friends who love you? Miss Sparkle also got me playing cards shaped like candy corn because she remembered it was one of the only candies that I really like. So being back in Nashville instead of fairytale Philly isn’t the worst thing ever when my girls are around.
It’s fall!!! FALL!!! I took a hot shower this morning to warm my toes. I slept in real pajamas last night! The high temp might not break 70°F today.
What’s new with you all? Tell me good things! I’ve barely got time to breathe, but I swear I’ll catch up on all y’all’s post sometime. In the meantime, tell me about your weekend.

Back from a fabulous weekend in Philadelphia with skipheller and autumnyte. Will update for real when I’m not unbelievably swamped, slammed, buried and ass-raped by my job.

It’s meme-ish, but I can’t help it, I’m book nerd and how could I pass this up? In fact, I’m such a huge nerd, I went a fixed all the capitalization of the titles after I copied it from elsewhere.
These are the top 200 books most often marked as “unread” by LibraryThing’s users as of a few days ago. Bold what you have read, italicise what you started but couldn’t finish, and strike through what you couldn’t stand. (I’m going one further and putting an asterisk by the ones I own but haven’t yet read.)
